Welcome to "Dog & Butterfly"

 We got started on our road when we met our first papillon that a friend owns. He was the cutest little guy. He thought nothing of setting on a strangers lap and giving kisses. We decided at that moment to start our own flock of butterflies. We started out with our two little girls, Panda Girl a black & white who weights 5.6 lbs., then Aponi (means butterfly in Native American) she is tri colored and weights 7.5 lbs. Then came our little stud. Dakota Spirit, he is sable & white and weights 7.2 lbs. All of my little dogs are A.K.C. registered.

Now a few facts about Papillons: pronounced PAP-ee-yon. Papillon means butterfly in French, is a toy breed, got its name because of its ears, which resemble the wings of a butterfly. The breed was thought to have originated in Spain and Italy and from there was introduced into France. It is believed to be purebred for 700 years.Their height is between 8-11 in. at the shoulder and weights 3-10 lbs. This breed has a long & silky coat that flows and has patches of color.They have a fine bone structure and their temperament is friendly, happy and eager to please. They rank first of the toy breeds in obedience. They are good little lap dogs and very good watch dogs, however not excessive barkers.

Ok how about a little information about our farm? We are located in south central Indiana. We also raise miniature horses, have lots of chickens, a German Shepherd, couple of cats, and a pond full of fish. We grow several flower gardens where we have a big variety of butterflies fluttering around, but none as beautiful as the Papillon. Please enjoy the pictures of my Butterfly Dogs.
